A Christmas date

This story is a response to the Challenge posted on Friday Fictioneers, which is a weekly blog link-up led by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields at Addicted to Purple. A story inspired by the photo prompt, a beginning, middle and end in just 100 words or below, making every word count. Here goes my attempt, hope you guys like it.

A Christmas date

Hey beautiful… nice to see you again” his face glowed with love.

Its been long. Did you miss me?” she asked. Sparkling at the sight of him, gliding her arm around his neck.

The warmth they shared lit up the festive atmosphere. Stars adorning trees, clouds shedding ice and the moon smiling its brightest.

“I’ve missed you a lifetime sweetheart. Why do you have to go away each year?” He flickered with an ounce of sadness.

Who would love me if I was here all the time dear….”

The lampost and festive lights kissed, wishing each other a “Merry Christmas“.
