Save them!

This story is a response to the Challenge posted on Friday Fictioneers, which is a weekly blog link-up led by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields at Addicted to Purple. A story inspired by the photo prompt, a beginning, middle and end in just 100 words or below, making every word count. Here goes my attempt, hope you guys like it.

Save them!

“Liberty, Equality and Fraternity…” Lisa read out.

“Hmmm….” Wenn ignored her expression. Busy chatting on his phone, he just glimpsed at her and smiled.

Lisa had stopped in her tracks, while Wenn kept walking until he almost tripped and his phone almost fell from hands.

“Save them!” she shouted at him.

“What?…” he exclaimed catching hold of the phone and eyeing her with concern and confusion.

Lisa walked up to him. “Nothing dear, I meant your world, all those people whom you care for…..”.

“What???” Wenn asked irritably.

“Yeahh… all of them… in your phone!” She said and walked away.

  1. It seems so sad when people live on their phone, it leaves the future looking grim for humanity. I do hope that I am wrong. Heck another story has popped into my thoughts. Of people living their whole life in metallic hammocks and meeting all their need via a phone link.
