Retrospection

This story is a response to the Challenge posted on Friday Fictioneers, which is a weekly blog link-up led by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields at Addicted to Purple. A story inspired by the photo prompt, a beginning, middle and end in just 100 words or below, making every word count. Here goes my attempt, hope you guys like it.

Retrospection

It’s Winter again. Winter that covers all I ever said to you, all we ever shared, this winter…. The ice between us. There were snowflakes on our face when we first kissed. And they melted on my cheeks as I blushed. Your eyes that looked at me as promising winters forever.

It’s been long, long enough…winters, wintery enough. There’s ice between us. Ice of fear, icy distances, and love like snowflakes that do not touch my face anymore. As I don’t blush anymore, adrenaline rush no more, heart under my own heels I crush no more.

It’s snowing again…
