Monster

This story is a response to the Challenge posted on Friday Fictioneers, which is a weekly blog link-up led by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields at Addicted to Purple. A story inspired by the photo prompt, a beginning, middle and end in just 100 words or below, making every word count. Here goes my attempt, hope you guys like it.

Monster

“Why do you need it open?” Sam whispered.

Maggie stole her body away from Sam’s warmth and dragged herself out of bed. She opened the door a little and Sam squinting at the light that enters the room calls out to her.

“It’s cold. Answer me why do you need the bedroom door always open? Kids do that…grow up for god’s sake…”

“To keep my monsters under covers…. to keep you safe.” {Wink}
